Happiness is a State of Mind

When you look around at the beauty of nature and the things and people that grace your life, you realize how blessed you are. God has added abundance to your life daily. The feelings of joy and humility just consume you as you count your blessings.

There are people, however, who can look at the same wonders of nature that you do but can't seem to see the beauty. They can't appreciate family and friends as gifts from God, but as drainers of money and energy. Why is it that you can see the goodness around YOU, but someone else may seem indifferent? How can you see the glass as half full when they see it as half empty?

Most Western nations, including the U.S., have material wealth yet many people can't seem to find happiness. Millions of people in the United States have access to abundance, in contrast to other nations who struggle with war and poverty. Yet people in this country seem to find more reasons to be unhappy.

The answer lies in the way a person chooses to view life. They have to have a positive mindset to view their lives from the lens of happiness. If they are going to be happy, it starts with making a decision. They have to decide to appreciate the things and people that are a part of your lives.

Choosing to be grateful for having the ability to see hear taste smell or feel, goes a long way to helping people to have a positive attitude. Knowing that the alternative could so easily be true, can help set the baseline for happiness. Choosing to be grateful will create an atmosphere of happiness in the mind.

Happiness thrives in a positive atmosphere, and by choosing to be grateful daily, anyone can have a truly happy life.
